How About You Just Study at School?
Here’s an unfortunate piece of Americana I found the other day promoting school prayer. Supposedly this is legal provided the students are organizing it. I’m sure no teacher nor administrator ever gets involved at all… nah. This is happening/happened today all across the country and I hope it gets some secular resistance.
This, as always, makes me feel bad for all students at such institutions. I feel bad for the secular students who are likely faced with the awful dilemma of going into hiding while their school is riddled with the nonsense, or choosing the long, embittered road of opposition.
But I feel bad for the religious students also. They are indoctrinated in this nonsense and are encouraged, compelled, and coaxed by their nonsensical religious culture to engage in such activity. It’s divisive, it’s silly, and it’s harmful.
I will end with a word from our sponsor: JESUS.
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Jesus ~ Matthew 6:5~6:6
